Rough Week at the McGraw's

It's been a rough week at the McGraw's! Let's just talk about our week...shall we? Monday - appointment with my Hand dr about the cyst and possible carpal tunnel in my wrist...find out he wants to do surgery. Pick up Baby Girl and they tell me she hasn't been acting like "Avery". We go home and she acts ok...just a little tired. Tuesday - take baby girl to daycare, have a good day at work, pick baby girl up - she's still acting a little "puny". We go home and she just wants to cuddle and rock all night. Perfectly fine with me :) but a little out of the ordinary for her. Give her some tylenol before bed and listen to her cough all night. Wednesday - Get up and get ready for work, go wake baby girl up to get her dressed and she feels warm. Took her temp and it's right at 100. Change of plans for us, no school - instead to the dr to find out she has the flu. Get her home, she rests and cuddles all day. Joey gets home from playing basketball and informs me that apparantly sometime during the day the shelf that holds all of our extra paint in the garage falls and splatters paint all over my car! then, go to put baby girl to bed and her temp is now 103. no work for joey the next day and i'll be off friday. Thursday - i go to work, have a decent day only i'm losing my voice and just feel like junk all day. get home and avery seems to be doing a little better today. she's playing and being silly - a little more like my normal baby girl! joey leaves for a baseball party in longview and it's just me and avery at home. over the last couple of days she has discovered that she can get into the recliner by climbing onto the fireplace and then over to the chair. she's been doing this over and over and over again for last couple of days. only this time, while trying to get from the chair to the fireplace, she slips and falls head-first onto the corner of the fireplace! i scoop her up and blood is gushing all down her face. i immediately go into a panic, stopped breathing i'm pretty sure and am just trying to get it to stop bleeding with a cold rag. call my mom bc she's closer than joey and was sure i wasn't breathing by this time. they come all the way in from jacksonville to check on me and baby girl. we decide no stitches needed...just some motrin and bed because by this time we are 30 minutes or so past our bed time! i think that's all for this week...at least it's all i'm going to allow! welcome to life at the mcgraw's!!

Well...

I've been waiting all week for baby girl to start running a fever. that sounds weird, but when i picked her up from daycare monday she just didn't seem like she felt well. and she was the same way yesterday afternoon. So, this morning when she woke up with a 101 fever, I was not surprised! we took her in to see the nurse practitioner this morning and she decided that she has enough of the flu symptoms to go on and treat for flu without actually doing the "test". so, we start tamiflu at dinner time and hopefully it will not make her sick!

in addition to having the flu, this also means that she will miss out the last few days at miss kathy's before she starts grace on monday. :( that makes me kind-of sad! so, i hope miss kathy and miss susan know just how special they are in our life and that we will miss them! I will definitely be letting them know! for now, just pray that we caught her flu in time and that it doesn't get too bad. It hasn't slowed her down too much so far, just made her extra cuddly! :)

Octoberfest on the Hill

Baby Girl and Granna
Today was a day full of fun, food, more fun and more food!! Day one of the first annual Octoberfest on the Hill was a huge success and a lot of fun! Avery LOVED every minute of her day today...so much that she completely conked out on the way home tonight! Lot of games, food, fishing, hayrides, 4-wheeler rides and bonfires on this cold, drizzly day. Thanks to Mom and Marc for putting on such a fun day! We'll be back tomorrow for more! Check out our pictures from day one! :)

Happy Friday!!

So, I decided to try this whole BLOG thing again...I tried before, but didn't do so well. Maybe now, with this new fun background, I'll be better at it!
This week has definitely been a week of ups and downs! We had a rough week trying to prayerfully make a decision about baby girl...her daycare. We have been thinking about going on and getting her on a waiting list for a more structured daycare. Well, we started calling this week and found that Grace Community, one of our number 1 choices, had an immediate opening in her age class. So, after days of praying and talking, we decided to go on and move her. It was definitely not an easy move away from our sweet Miss Kathy and Ms Susan. We love them both and Avery loves them both! But, we really feel like this is all happening in God's timing. Before we started calling, Joey and I just prayed that if it was the right thing, things would just fall into place. And that's exactly what has happened. So, her last day with Miss Kathy is next Friday and she will start in the toddler room the following Monday at Grace! We are very excited and apprehensive about the move all at the same time. So, just keep us in your prayers over the next week or so as we make this transition. In other good news, we were able to defer student loans for another year...which those of you that know us well, know that this is definitely an answer to prayer!! Everyone have a great weekend! We are set to enjoy "Octoberfest on the Hill" at Granna and Pops' house!! :) I'll post pictures!
